Past times turn mystifying this fall when The Urbana Free Library's UFL
Reads book club investigates historical mysteries.
First up, on Sunday, September 28, is Laurie R. King's The Beekeeper's
Apprentice. Young American orphan Mary Russell, living in Sussex
Downs, encounters the retired Sherlock Holmes, quite by chance. Holmes
is engrossed in raising bees, but after he meets Mary, will the
sleuthing part of his life begin again?

October 26 Murder in the White House by Margaret Truman
Follow the clues in the first of Margaret Truman's Capitol Crimes
series. Who murdered the Secretary of State in the White House? Margaret
Truman provides insider information on the crime scene, as only the
daughter of a former president can.
November 23 Murphy's Law by Rhys Bowen
Catch a glimpse into immigrant life in 1901, as Irish heroine Molly
Murphy flees Ireland in danger, and finds herself in the thick of things again on Ellis Island.
